For the Birds is a musical collective comprised of B.C. singer-songwriters Elaine Ryan, Aspen Switzer and Genevieve Rainey. Elaine is providing a temporary web presence for For the Birds on her personal website.
After the overwhelmingly positive response to our spring tour For the Birds has decided to record a joint album! But in order to do that we need to raise $15,000. As you can imagine, we need a lot of help! We've set up a series of prizes for donors who wish to help us, from a pre-ordered copy of the CD to house concerts, executive producer credits and more. We cover the shipping. Please take a look at the options and consider a donation, small or large to the making of this CD!

Presenting their songs in an “in the round” format, For the Birds blend their voices to create soulful harmonies and back each other up on guitar, banjo and ukulele. These talented musicians met through an online competition to play on Sarah McLachlan's Lilith tour. All of them ranked in the top six of the Vancouver contest and each performer brings to the stage her own unique style and range.
RECORDINGS:
All songs posted as "Live from the Living Room" were recorded in one take on Garageband in Elaine's living room to give a feel for what we sound like harmonizing. Check out our studio recordings at our individual websites.

Irony: The expression of one's meaning by using language that normally signifies the opposite, typically for humorous or emphatic effect.
Hipster: Young person identified by vintage or thrift-store bought clothing, a taste for obscure or underground music, a penchant for irony and an elitist attitude.
